To finish, we’d like to celebrate all our female athletes, coaches & officials who contribute to our sport on a daily basis! Showing that female participation is at an all time high within the sport of weightlifting and within Weightlifting Ireland! 👏🏻
Last weekend we had the Munster Open Championships, hosted by Cork Weightlifting Club with 48 female athletes entered to compete. Not only did they showcase some fantastic weightlifting, we also had female coaches, loaders and officials at this event! One of our larger female groups at this event showed all our female members in full force with the athletes, coaches, loaders & officials – all being female!
We’d like to encourage all our female members to get involved in whatever way they feel they can – be that competing, loading, becoming a technical official or a certified coach – our sport has something for everyone. We’d like to thank all our active female members for being positive role models for generations to come.
