Weightlifting Ireland is going to have a Garda Vetting Booth at Senior Nationals for anyone whose WI Garda Vetting needs renewing. Tom Brady has taken over from Áine Byrne as the Acting Liaison Person for Garda Vetting with Weightlifting Ireland. Please see short message & video from Tom:

“We have a large number of coaches who need their Garda Vetting renewed and I thought it would be a good opportunity to catch up with as many coaches as possible during Nationals. I’ll have spare Garda Vetting forms there and a printer scanner to copy ID’s but I’ll also be sending emails with the forms attached to all the coaches that I last vetted so that you can get ahead of the game by having the first page filled out as I’ll be filling out the second page on the day.

In preparation for the process, I’ll need the coaches and officials who are going to get vetted to bring with them at least 2 forms of ID one being a preferably a Passport or new style driver’s license or learners permit with your photo, your proper name and DOB, and a recent utility bill dated from May of this year or nearer to today’s date. The utility bill must have your name (same as the passport or license) and your current address. The bill can be Gas, Electricity, Telephone or Broadband but not mobile phone, you could also use a bank statement/credit card statement dated within the last 6 months.

If you don’t have these 2 forms of ID I’ll still need some other form of photo ID with your name, some ID that confirms your Date of birth and ID that confirms where you currently live and these have to equal or exceed the 100 points required of the ID check form that I will be signing. I’ve included the information from the ID check form so that you can see what forms of ID are usable but whatever ID you choose they must equal or be in excess of 100pts, have a photo, proof of Date of Birth and proof of current address.

If you have any specific questions that you need answering please contact me on : [[email protected]].

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at Nationals.

Thank you.”
