In the past year, Weightlifting Ireland (WI) have encouraged seven (7) technical officials to progress along the IWF International Technical Officials (ITO) pathway.
At last year’s Celtic Nation’s Championships, Weightlifting Scotland & Weightlifting Wales helped us promote Craig Walters (IRL) and David Marquis (IRL) from National level to IWF Category 2. They both passed the theory & practical examinations with ease.
Earlier this year, we had our two most experienced female technical officials (TO) promoted. Philomena Brown (IRL) & Lucinda Moore-Fox (IRL) were promoted from National level to IWF Category 2. Thanks to the help of Tina Beiter and the Danish Weightlifting Federation.
- Philomena Brown (IRE) : 98.26% Theoretical Test & 96.8% Practical Test
- Lucinda Moore-Fox (IRE) : 99.13% Theoretical Test & 97.2% Practical Test
We then supported Neil Dougan (IRL) as he attended this years Nordic Championships in the Faroe Islands. With the help of Tina Beiter and the Danish Weightlifting Federation again, he successfully passed the IWF Category 1 exam – moving to the highest level of International Technical Official.
Finally, at this year’s Celtic Nation’s Championships, Weightlifting Wales helped us promote John Stack (IRL) and Peter Carroll (IRL) from National level to IWF Category 2 – both passing the theory & practical examinations with ease.
- John Stack (IRE) : 97.5% Theoretical Test & 96.4% Practical Test
- Peter Carroll (IRE) : 97.5% Theoretical Test & 94.4% Practical Test
