Anti-Doping Rules | (Youth Education)
Weightlifting Ireland in partnership with Sport Ireland Anti-Doping is committed to ensuring weightlifting is a clean sport. Sport Ireland Anti-Doping is the National Anti-Doping organisation whose function includes the implementation of guidelines, codes of practice, standards of good conduct, fair play and the elimination of doping in sport.

We recognise that our Youth membership is growing, with athletes taking their first steps onto the pathway to International representation. Weightlifting Ireland is dedicated to supporting our youth athletes on this pathway and providing education to support them through the process. It is highlighted that Anti-Doping does not just concern competitions (National or International) but should be a day to day consideration for all.

Our Anti-Doping Officers, Harry Leech and Lucy Moore-Fox, will be hosting an online Anti-Doping presentation on Friday 20th January 2023 at 7.30pm. This 45 minute presentation is specifically for our youth athletes, their parents and coaches. We request that the under 18 athlete is accompanied by a parent or coach (they can join independently on separate devices) and as an athlete who has been identified as being on the development pathway, we would encourage full attendance.
–
Harry and Lucy welcome any questions on Anti-Doping, but if you can forward them in advance by Thursday 19th January, it would be greatly appreciated. If you do not wish for your question to be discussed at the presentation, or think of any afterwards, they will also provide their contact details.
